HOW ‘BOUT AN OPEN GOP CONVENTION?
Can a Dark Horse Candidate Ride in to Save the GOP?

There will be an Open GOP Convention if grassroots conservatives and the newly formed Patriot PAC have anything to say about it!

Clearly, John McCain is not acceptable to the Reaganite base of the Republican Party.

While it seems increasingly likely that the Democrats could have their first Open Convention in over 50 years, it is now evident there is a very real need for an Open GOP Convention as well. To learn how an Open Convention would work, and to spread the word, PLEASE TELL YOUR FRIENDS TO VISIT US AT:  OpenGopConvention.com

With the GOP establishment huffing and puffing “We Win,” how could such an Open Convention occur?  Well, in fact, even if McCain wins every delegate available in the remaining primaries, he still lacks the 300 or more needed to wrap up the nomination.  If delegates presently bound to Mitt Romney decide not vote for John McCain; if Mike Huckabee and Ron Paul continue to pick up more delegates beyond the Potomac Primary; if THEIR delegates remain bound to THEIR candidates; if the “Contain McCain” and “Unfit to Serve” battle cries of the grassroots and the conservative talk show hosts across America continue—the Republican nomination for President is no foregone McCain Conclusion!

Conducting talk show interviews on this topic are a pool of well-respected political conservatives who are able to share with an American electorate crying “NEVER MCCAIN” the exciting history of Dark Horse campaigns and Open Conventions. Here are some of the speakers who are talking about Dark Horse Conventions:

CONGRESSMAN BOB DORNAN is highly qualified to discuss John McCain's "war hero” credentials and McCain’s anti-POW/MIA, anti-conservative voting record in the Senate.

PHYLLIS SCHLAFLY, the woman who virtually single-handedly stopped the radical feminists' Equal Rights Amendment, tells the story of Dark Horse candidates in years past, including the Republican Party's founder, Abraham Lincoln. For an excellent article by Phyllis Schlafly on Dark Horse candidates, visit  "Dark horse looks good in GOP presidential race"

WILLIAM GREENE, President of RightMarch.com, has recently announced on Fox News' "Your World with Neil Cavuto" that he is planning on emailing millions of conservative grassroots activists to think twice about voting for president in the general election, if McCain ultimately prevails as the GOP nominee, against the passionate objections of the Republican Party base.

DR. JEROME CORSI, whose research shows that John McCain was funded by leftist radical George Soros for nearly eight years, has authored this article:  "John McCain funded by Soros since 2001"

Dr. Corsi is co-author of the “Unfit for Command” book about John Kerry’s Swift Boat Vietnam years.

GENERAL JERRY CURRY, a remarkable man who rose from private to general in the U.S. Army, and three-time presidential appointee, has asserted: “Lincoln would never have been the Republican nominee if not for the open Republican convention of 1860, not being the frontrunner in that race. The time is now for such an open convention to occur again, as so much is at stake.”

JOHN COX, Chicago/Cook County GOP has said, "Career politicians tell you what they think you want to hear and then do the opposite. John McCain may tell us he will secure us and he has the experience, but our experience with him is not comforting. I would rather lose and have Obama or Hillary than get blamed for a Republican who does the same or worse. Carter gave us Reagan. Obama will give us another Reagan.”

WHAT IS A REPUBLICAN OPEN (BROKERED) CONVENTION?

1) An Open Convention gives conservatives a voice, and the opportunity to agree on a “Dark Horse” champion and standard bearer.  Short of a successful brokered nominee, a hard-fought Open Convention still affords conservatives leverage to protect the Reagan Platform and to affect executive branch policy and personnel. An Open Convention gives Mitt Romney a voice.  An Open Convention gives Mike Huckabee a voice.  An Open Convention gives Ron Paul a voice.

An Open Convention keeps media attention on the Republican Party for the next 6 months, with earned media and excitement, instead of non-stop attacks on the appalling history of John McCain!  If we just roll over and go to sleep, only RINO John McCain will have a voice and be the news for the GOP—and the news will be nothing but bad.  Moreover, the media excitement will almost solely focus on the back-and-forth Obama/Hillary Democratic contest.

2) Republican Open Conventions result in wins!

Abraham Lincoln - 3rd Ballot - Won Presidency!
Rutherford Hayes - 7th Ballot - Won Presidency!
James Garfield - 36th Ballot - Won Presidency!
Warren G. Harding - 10th Ballot - Won Presidency!
Dwight D. Eisenhower - 2nd Ballot - Won Presidency!

3) McCain has to win 472 more delegates (45% of remaining delegates) to secure the nomination. Huckabee needs 576 delegates (55% of remaining delegates) to force (on his own) a Brokered Convention.

4) On Super Tuesday, McCain got 42% of the vote in Blue States and only 26% in Red States. Over 60% of McCain's delegates have come from Blue States. Do we really want our candidate picked by states that we have very little chance of winning in the fall?

5) 71% of the remaining delegates are from Red States. There are not enough Blue State delegates left to put McCain over the top. If we UNITE we can force this to An OPEN GOP CONVENTION.

6) Conservatives Unite! There is still time!  Win the Red States and we go to the convention TO DEFEND THE RONALD REAGAN LEGACY, THE PLATFORM, and what it means to be a Republican! DO NOT VOTE FOR JOHN MCCAIN; DO NOT SUPPORT HIM FOR THE GOP NOMINATION!

SPREAD THE WORD!  DON’T HAND THIS NOMINATION TO A MAN WHO IS UNFIT TO SERVE!
This contest IS NOT OVER IF WE UNITE AND STAND STRONG!
